What is with the Snow?!

Well, here we are, three days til Prom and we are experiencing snow! The joys of northern Minnesota. I have somewhat of a pet peeve when people complain about things so I won't say anymore. There are absolutely so many things about this part of the country that are wonderful so I suppose it is better to think on those things. Right?
Anyway, the in-laws arrived last night. Bob and Roxanne are here to help out with the big event. Then Dad will be able to play paintball with the boys on Sunday, which worked out well.
Other family news...well let's see Sydney is in rehersals for the Lincoln Elementary school's spring play, called "Phantom of the Music Room". She got the female lead part. She has two solos and some lines. We are pretty excited about that! Brock starts Little League practice this Sunday...let's hope it isn't snowing. I have to say it is a sign of summer. Little League, sitting watching his games! Poor boy is sick right now so I hope he gets better for Sunday. Life at the Williamsons. I tell you it is never dull!!

It's a Weekend!

we love weekends! Sleeping in..no school...don't have to get out of your pajamas...you can run to the nearest Holiday and grab some over-priced-yet-somehow-worth-it donuts called Krispy Kremes...brew some coffee and sit back and breathe for a while. Well, I mean I know you are always breathing but somehow on a Saturday morning I actually know I am breathing. Other days I think I take it for granted.
Last night I went to see the Hibbing High School spring play. Brittany has been putting in many hours helping backstage. Let me tell you I was very impressed. There is an ensemble cast of nine kids in a British comedy called, "Noises Off" by Micheal Frayn. It was very well done. I have to say that comedy is pretty tricky to do and these kids pulled it off! BRAVO!
It is finally spring here in Hibbing although, the weather has gotten a little cool as of late. Last night Randy saw a black bear run across our road into the woods on our property. As you can well imagine that thrilled him. The deer are more active these days too. Makes me glad I am in the country!
I still haven't got the hang of getting photos onto the web (hint, hint P.A.) but I will get there before next week.

Happy weekend! Take time to breathe!

Dogs and Prom dresses

The diversity of my role is evident to me this morning as I am only forty minutes into my day and already I have been involved in laundry, putting wood on the fire (our home is heated by an outside wood stove, if you have any questions I am not the one to ask. I just put wood in there when my man is out of town), typing up a sheet of homework for Brittany and preparing a prom dress for steaming.
Who knew motherhood would be such a challenging blast?!
Randy is in fact out of town so some of the things I have been doing over the past three days are not usually in my docket. He is down in Minneapolis at District Council. He took Brock and Jessica with him and I have Brittany and Sydney up here with me. They both had committments at their schools and couldn't leave Hibbing. The other half of the Williamsons return home today!
The prom dress is Brittany's and it is in some desperate need of pressing so I am taking it to work with me this morning because my Wednesday boss (I clean house for people, besides my Williamson people) owns a nice steamer and kindly gave me permission to use it. Why does Brittany have a Prom Dress you might wonder....well that is another story. I think I will save it for another post. (watch for pictures)
Let me encourage you all this morning...we all have our dog caring, wood stacking, prom dress steaming moments of our days. I am not the only one I know! In those tasks that seem mindlessly uninteresting consider who you are serving and do it with a good attitude. I am glad we have heat in our house, that I have four wonderful creatures (the dogs not my kids) to feed and that my daughter has an opportunity to be a princess for a night in a soon to be wrinkle-free gown. Life is what you make it friends!!! Make it great today.

Welcome to our family blog!

So this is it now. A way for all our friends and family near and far to keep up on our family. Just think now you don't have to wait for your annual Christmas letter! LOL. I will try to be diligent in keeping this updated. I got a new digital camera recently so I will make sure I get Aaron Broberg to help me get pictures on line for you all to see. This way I don't have to send them to you snail mail. I am pretty excited! Well, that is it for now. Just wanted to welcome you all and hope to hear from you soon. Sue
